Comparative Study Between Diagnostic Accuracy of Hysteroscopy And 3d Ultrasound in Patients with Abnormal Uterine Bleeding in Child Bearing Period

Background: Bleeding disorders of the uterus are extremely presenting complaint in females of childbearing age and is a complicated clinical condition with several potential causes. Intrauterine pathology can often be diagnosed with via the application of a hysteroscopic examination, Aim and Objectives: assess the diagnostic efficacy of 3D ultrasonography against hysteroscopy in women of childbearing age for the detection of endometrial lesions, Patients & methods: This retrospective research was carried out on 100 individuals suffering from abnormal uterine bleeding (pre-menopausal bleeding) in child bearing period and those between 20 and 40 years old, originating from the outpatient Gynecological Clinic at Al Hussein, Al Sayed Galal Hospitals, and Al Azhar University beginning in October 2022 and ending in May 2023, Results: In cases of adenomyosis, 35 individuals had menorrhagia, 28 patients had metrorrhagia, and 37 individuals had menometrorrhagia. The average age for these individuals was 34,2 ± 5.11. In cases of fibroids, dense endometrium, and endometrial lesions, the sensitivity, specificity & accuracy of 3D U/S were lower than those of hysteroscopy, Conclusion: Based on our findings, we think hysteroscopy is superior to 3D U/S for diagnosing all lesions in terms of sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy. Hysteroscopy gives direct vision of the uterine cavity, allowing for the detection of tiny localized intrauterine lesions that may be overlooked by 3D ultrasound due to the latter's focus on the endometrial cavity.
